When a devoted but wildly unprepared couple realise they are biologically unable to start a family, they hatch a plan that seems practical on paper but completely chaotic in real life - surrogacy - which is illegal in Italy.

Their decision sends them to Spain triggering a series of misunderstandings and cultural clashes. For the next nine months they must host and hide their Spanish surrogate and Marta must simulate a pregnancy hiding the truth from her old-fashioned father. Driven by sharp dialogue and a savvy sensibility, the film finds humour in bureaucracy, relationships and the absurd rules of the modern world. Beneath the laughs lies a warm, generous-hearted film directed by the comic talents of Fausto Brizzi (a well-known Italian television personality), delivering an entertaining, crowd-pleasing ride about our desire to be parents.

A film suitable for everyone - mainstream in the truest sense of the term
