Director Ginevra Elkann has assembled a stellar cast to depict a time that may not be too far away, beyond the climate tipping point. Through a series of intertwined threads, we’re immersed in stories ranging from the hilarious to the tragic. Valeria Bruni Tedeschi plays a woman who inhabits a world of her own.
The wonderful Valeria Golino plays a botox-filled ageing porn star who pines for the spotlight but instead lives with her cats. Danny Houston plays an Amercican priest who struggles with his heroin addiction. Thse and other micro-stories create a clever mosaic of pieces that, when they come together, form a richly complex, deliciously dark comedy with outrageous poignancy.
The bold, stylised visual approach, with its hypnotic, pastel palette, is surreal, highly original and captivating.
